NATA, also known as the National Aptitude Test in Architecture, has been administered by COA since 2006 in accordance with the provisions of the CoA Council of Architecture. The NATA ensures that the eligibility criteria for admission to the five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree course, as prescribed by the CoA and duly approved by the Central Government, are strictly adhered to and followed in Architectural Institutions across the country. Unlike other entrance exams, NATA is an Aptitude test that evaluates a candidate's innate ability through a variety of testing formats and cannot be taught, learned, or induced. As a result, attending coaching classes will not significantly improve a candidate's aptitude. NATA assesses an applicant's aptitude for a specific field of study, such as architecture, by assessing cognitive skills. In addition to the learning that the candidate has acquired over the past few years and is related to the specific field of study, the candidate must pass visual perception and aesthetic sensitivity tests, logical reasoning and critical thinking ability, and so on. With the goal of providing opportunities to a greater number of deserving candidates.
